Nebraska Undergraduate
NUSS 98 Conference
This years conference will take place on November 5th and 6th, 1998 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Our speakers this year will be Peter Adler, at The University of Denver and Patricia A. Adler, at The University of Colorado. The Adlers have written numerous books and articles. Their most recent book, Peer Power: Preadolescent Culture and Identity (Rutgers University Press), looks at the social worlds of third through sixth grade children and the myths associated with children's friendships, power and popularity, and gender issues between girls and boys. Their past work includes studies of drug dealers and smugglers, college athletes, and financial markets. Peter and Patricia both received their Ph.D.'s from the University of California, San Diego. The title for the Adlers’ presentation for NUSS 98 is: "Child's Play: The Serious Implications of Extracurricular Activities."
