Larval Hostplant(s): Passion vines (Passiflora species). These plants may be found as ornamentals in Nebraska. |
Overwinter: Flies all or most of the year in its home range, but does not survive Nebraska winters. |
Commentary/Habitat: As a stray there are no particular habitat preferences. This butterfly was last found in Nebraska in 1986 at three different locations (Keith, Furnas and Douglas counties) from mid July into September. There was but one previous old record from Platte County. Anyone finding this species in Nebraska should consider it to be a once in a lifetime event. |
