Flight Period(s): There is one flight throughout its range. In Nebraska it has been found from 31 May -25 June. |
Range: Found in eastern Montana/western North Dakota southward to central Texas and southern Arizona. In Nebraska it has been found in the Pine Ridge, in pine habitats in the Niobrara River valley, and in the loess hills region in south central Nebraska. |
Larval Hostplant(s): Grasses, particularly Blue Grama (Bouteloua gracilis) |
Overwinter: As a partially grown caterpillar |
Commentary/Habitat: When found, this species is, at best, represented by an individual or two. In the Niobrara River valley it is found on hillsides in or adjacent to open pine woodlands. In the loess hills of south central Nebraska it has been found from the base to lower portions of prairie hillsides. Adults perch on open ground. |
