Status: Uncommon to occasional local resident
Flight Period(s): One flight in our area. 29 May – 22 June
Range: This species inhabits a narrow band from eastern Montana south into New Mexico and Arizona. In Nebraska it is found in the Pine Ridge regions of Sioux County.
Larval Hostplant(s): Gramma grasses, particularly Blue Gramma (Bouteloua gracilis).
Overwinter: As a partially grown caterpillar
Commentary/Habitat: In Sioux County the Simius Roadside-Skipper is usually found in mixed prairies and open ground on ridgetops of ponderosa pine woodlands. When found it is normally as only an individual or two.
