Range: This species inhabits a narrow band from eastern Montana south into New Mexico and Arizona. In Nebraska it is found in the Pine Ridge regions of Sioux County. |
Larval Hostplant(s): Gramma grasses, particularly Blue Gramma (Bouteloua gracilis). |
Overwinter: As a partially grown caterpillar |
Commentary/Habitat: In Sioux County the Simius Roadside-Skipper is usually found in mixed prairies and open ground on ridgetops of ponderosa pine woodlands. When found it is normally as only an individual or two. |
