Range: It’s range is virtually identical to that of the northern broken dash, that being roughly the eastern half of the U. S. In Nebraska it is found in the eastern third of the state and along the Niobrara River in the north central counties. |
Larval Hostplant(s): Grasses - primarily Tridens flavus |
Overwinter: As a partially grown caterpillar |
Commentary/Habitat: The Little Glassywing is most often found at woodland margins (most often lowland, but occasionally upland). It has been found at the following public access areas: Basswod Ridge State Wildlife Management Area (Dakota County), Fontanelle Forest (Sarpy County), Indian Cave State Park (Nemaha and Richardson Counties), Rock Creek State Historical Park (Jefferson County), The Niobrara Valley Preserve (Brown and Keya Paha Counties), Little Blue State Wildlife Management Area (Thayer County), and Oak Valley State Wildlife Management Area (Madison County). |
