Flight Period(s): A single July flight occurs in northern areas. A second flight is possible in southern Nebraska. Males have been taken in south central Nebraska in August while the species is normally found in early July in northern portions of the state. However at no time have two distinct broods been found at the same location in Nebraska. In Nebraska the species has been found from 26 June – 11 August. |
Range: The Northern Broken-Dash is found from the eastern Dakotas and eastern Texas to the east coast. In Nebraska it is found in the southeastern half of the state with additional records from along the Niobrara River and the Pine Ridge. |

Commentary/Habitat: This species is most commonly encountered at the margins of riparian woodland habitats or in riparian lowlands. It has been found multiple times at the Niobrara Valley Preserve (Brown and Keya Paha Counties), though rarely in numbers, and once in abundance at Keller State Recreation Area ( Brown County) with no followup data. |
