Flight Period(s): There is a single spring/early summer flight. Nebraska records are from 27 May – 22 July. |
Range: This species is found from Alaska east to western Ontario and south to northern portions of California, Arizona and New Mexico. In Nebraska it has been found in Pine Ridge habitats in the panhandle. |
Larval Hostplant(s): Various crucifers of the following genera - Arabis, Barbarea, Brassica, Descurainia, Isatis, Lepidium, Raphanus, Sisymbrium and Thelypodium. |
Overwinter: The pupal stage overwinters. |
Commentary/Habitat: The Large marble was first recorded from the state in 1900, and most recently in 1995. Spanning that time frame it has been reported only a handfull of times. It has been found at Gilbert-Baker State Wildlife Management Area north of Harrison. |
