Status: Uncommon to common local resident. |
Flight Period(s): One spring to early summer flight. Nebraska records range from 24 May – 22 June. |
Range: This species inhabits western North America from the Yukon and Northwest Territories south through California, Arizona and New Mexico. In Nebraska it is restricted to the Pine Ridge areas of the panhandle counties. |
Larval Hostplant(s): Crucifers, particularly Arabis holboellii. |
Overwinter: The Spring White overwinters as a pupae. |
Commentary/Habitat: Adults are found on rocky hillsides and hilltops in open areas of ponderosa pine forest. This species has been found at Gilbert-Baker SWMA north of Harrison, and Wildcat Hills SRA south of Scotts Bluff. |
Similar Species: Western, Checkered and Cabbage Whites. |
