Fort Robinson, near Crawford and Chadron Nebraska, is a retired military base with a long and colorful history.  From the death of Crazy Horse to being a WWII P.O.W. and canine training facility this installation was home for many soldiers and their families for over 100 years.

Fort Robinson State Park now consists of over 22,00 acres of land, and is adjacent to both a State Wildlife Area and Solider Creek National Forest.   On these combined lands are elk, deer, pronghorn antelope, buffalo, longhorn cattle, and bighorn sheep.

The UNK Biology Department produced a series of maps and databases for Fort Robinson State Park to help them in producing maps and managing the park.  This work involved five undergraduates.

If you want to see examples of images we have made of Fort Robinson, please continue to one of the following pages.  I have put the images on other pages to speed download of this page.  Please note, these pages may take several minutes to download if the connection is slow (<56 kps).
